Who we are
Miles Patrie is the founder of Patrie Consulting, LLC. Miles brings 20 years of experience in safety net policy development, technical assistance, and research with strong expertise in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) work requirements and certification policy. He has developed trainings, toolkits, handbooks, policy guidance, and other tools for SNAP State agencies and has presented at national conferences on SNAP. While with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), he wrote a major SNAP rule and served as a subject matter expert on the SNAP certification policy. As a budget analyst for the U.S. Senate Budget Committee, he oversaw the budget for a host of income security programs, and as a legislative assistant for Senator Conrad, he served as one of the lead negotiators of the 2008 Farm Bill Nutrition Title. Patrie holds a master's degree from the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
